What HypeChart is
HypeChart is an independent chart of the short videos taking off right now on Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. It reads public posts only, and it is not affiliated with Instagram, Meta, TikTok, YouTube or Google.
The Hype Score
The Hype Score is HypeChart's own measure of how fast a video is moving right now, on a scale from 0 to 100. It weighs three things from a video's public counts. First, its pace: likes a day, where a comment counts as three likes and, on TikTok, a share counts as five. Second, its engagement rate: that engagement against the creator's followers, so a small account's hit can still rank. Third, its age: of two videos with the same pace, the newer one scores higher. Every platform is scored with the same formula, and TikTok and YouTube are set on Instagram's scale so one chart can hold all three.
How often
HypeChart reads the charts every 6 hours, around the clock. Each update ranks every video by its Hype Score at that moment, and the app counts down to the next one. Counts come from public posts as they stand at each update, so a number can move between updates.
The charts
Top 100 Videos. The 100 videos moving fastest right now, one per row, ranked by Hype Score. Instagram Reels and TikToks share one chart, YouTube Shorts join it with Pro, and each platform switches on or off. Instagram and TikTok are on when a visit starts.
Top 100 Creators. The creators behind the hottest videos right now, one per row: each by the Hype Score of their best charting video, plus a point for each other video they have on the chart.
The Top Niches. Every niche on the chart, from Memes and Comedy to Gaming and Music, hottest first by the likes a day of its videos.
The feed. The chart as a full screen video feed, one video at a time in chart order.
Every creator on the chart has a Hype Profile at hypechart.app/c/ followed by their username, with their rank, their Creator score and their videos on the chart.
Who it is for
HypeChart is for marketers, social media managers, creators, record labels and brands who need to know what is trending while it is still rising: which videos, which creators, which sounds and which niches are moving right now, and how fast.
